Hiring for Fall 2017 Production, Editing, and Animation Interns

Hiring for Fall 2017 Production, Editing, and Animation Interns

At Invenio, we all had terrible internships. We also had great ones where we were treated as adults, allowed to make high-level decisions, and gained real skills. We want to pass the same gift to you. Instead of this being a stressful place between school and that real job, we'll have you learning the real job stuff faster.

You'll get projects that matter, and we'll ask your opinion on how to move forward. We'll help you out when you need it, push you when you're close to something cool, and remind not to use all that school jargon in your client emails.

So, you can get people coffee and cleanup someone else's spreadsheets, or you can get started on your career. What's it going to be?

It would be nice if you could do some of these things (and we'll teach you the rest):

  • Light an on-location shoot
  • Run a camera or audio on one of our commercials
  • Animate a character you've created
  • Maintain our two 600 square foot studios
  • Touch up photos from a product shoot
  • Workshop a script with a client
  • Coordinate with an online marketing campaign
  • Produce and coordinate a short film production

Please send your professionally formatted cover letter and resume to info@inveniomedia.com. Tell us what you know, what you want to know, and how much you're ready to learn. We look forward to meeting you!

Hiring for Part-time Office Manager

Hiring for Part-time Office Manager

Invenio is a full-service creative advertising agency on the east side of Austin. We’re known for our great campaigns and fun art openings, and we’re looking for someone like you to help us stay sane while we grow. We’re looking for a part-time office manager to start immediately.

Duties

Between our studios, shoots, clients, art events, and tenants, we have a lot going on. And you’ll be the glue that makes this bad analogy actually work. Your basic duties could include some bookkeeping, assisting with accounts receivable and payable, and coordinating with our building, employees, and tenants, but like with all of our hires, we're looking for someone who enjoys having a different project every few days.

You’re someone who is organized and enjoys fast-paced, always-changing days. You’re just as comfortable researching a label maker as you are speaking with clients or organizing a work happy hour. If you’re really great at your job, you’ll be helping at shoots, coordinating materials for a big design project, or helping us plan our next party.

Desired Skills

  • You’re as organized as it comes
  • You have customer service experience
  • You’re great with computers and technology
  • You have light bookkeeping and Quickbooks experience
  • You’re relaxed with a thick to-do list and relish the check of each box

What else?

We’re starting this part-time with hourly pay based upon your experience. We want you to grow in this position as we continue to grow. Depending on your commitment, we offer great vacation options and healthcare. And come on, we’re a fun ad agency on the east side. If that means something fun or exciting to you, let’s get to know each other! Send your resume, cover letter, and your favorite animated gif to careers@inveniomedia.com.

Hiring for New Business Principal

Hiring for New Business Principal

Invenio is looking for a highly motivated, hands-on, go-getting real self-starter (and all the other things that make you click the back button on a job listing). The truth is, we like using our creativity and experience to make life a little easier for people, nonprofits, and businesses trying to be heard. That's where you come in.

We're a full service creative agency and production studio, and we do just about everything a client might need. “Everything” often means nothing to a new client, so we need someone like you to meet prospects, connect the dots along the way, and help us create more great work for new clients.

We'll make you feel comfortable with a small base pay, and then we'll reward you with a pretty nice commission schedule. Research? Happy to help. Proposal? We got it. Need help closing? Sounds good. We want you to prosper.

You?

  • You're a good mix of social and thoughtful
  • Sometimes you like a little research, other times you're out chatting with people
  • You let small losses roll off your back
  • You're excited to work at a fun creative business (that has art openings as well!)
  • You're looking forward to putting your name on some exciting projects
  • You can do all the obvious things (make it to meetings, put on clothes when you go outside, don't cause harm to us — physical, legal, or otherwise)

Your Job

  • Use your contacts to find possible clients
  • Go out and meet people to generate new leads
  • Think about which industries you could break into with no problem
  • Represent us out in Austin and the world
  • Communicate with your prospects and move them through every part of the process
  • Follow up with clients and get your account to grow with them

Contact us at careers@inveniomedia.com and let us know why you'd be a great fit. And we'll get your resume and setup a meeting after that. Look forward to working with you!

Big Picture Lab Website Launch

Big Picture Lab Website Launch

After a lot of work, we're excited to launch the new Big Picture Lab site. The actual model was constructed, photographed, and animated from above on our Boogen Super Salon stand, and we got to work laying out the site, slicing up the elements to be accessible and fast loading, and animating the segments.

With all of the images, scripts, and videos, we had to control loading, coordinate content delivery, and ensure smooth javascript animations. The site is responsive and fast loading, and we're so happy to work with Big Picture Lab. Time to win some awards now!

Helping Students Succeed with College Forward

College Forward focuses on getting students one-on-one support from eleventh grade through college graduation. With their recent expansion to Lone Star College-North Harris, College Forward wanted a fun, targeted way to get this great service out to the students who need it.

Working with untrained volunteer actors and staff on-location at the College Forward office, we put together a tight video with a clear message. Combined with an agressive email campaign and on-campus events, it's been a great tool for Lone Star College-North Harris students to get to know College Forward.

Brand Refresh and Site Update for Greylor

Greylor’s new site is live and features cutting edge, industry-tailored content.

Photographing the pumps was fun because we thought about them like cars—think sleek, sophisticated, and stylish. The site features these photographs alongside pump specifications and a custom shopping cart feature.

Greylor is a leading company in industrial pumps, with its products used in food and beverage, manufacturing, agriculture, medicine, and machinery. Based in Florida, this company boasts innovation alongside quality, which we wanted to show off on their new website.

Take a look at the site, www.greylor.com, and let us know what you think!

Inked Animal Show at Invenio Gallery

Inked Animal Show at Invenio Gallery

We’re now rotating the art in the entry section of our space, and the first art we're featuring is Inked Animal. The project is the work of Adam Cohen and Ben Labay, full-time fish biologists from Austin, Texas. Since 2007, they have collaborated in making unique fish (Gyotaku) and animal prints.

As conservation biologists, Adam and Ben seek the long-term persistence of the populations of animals they print. The pieces are strikingly beautiful, and your eventual realization of the prints’ dead source material rings like a gong for the plight of these animals.

Stop by during an Open Canopy weekend (First Friday and Saturday of each month), or just pop in and see these beautiful pieces.

Carrie Contey Evolve 2014 — Jennifer

Animation number two is live! Carrie Contey continues to inspire some of our most enjoyable work. Contey, a parenting expert with a penchant for creativity, has been working with Invenio to create original animations that explain her vision.

“Working with Carrie has been exciting from a creative standpoint,” says Keith Manlove, Invenio’s Creative Director.

The second animation, “Jennifer” shows a mom’s growing relationship with her teenage son.

Leaders in Leather — Handbags from Austin

Leaders in Leather — Handbags from Austin

Leaders in Leather is pleased to announce the launch of its fully-featured website, www.LeadersinLeather.net. We designed the new site with shoppers in mind—beautiful images and luxurious leather bags are its focus, while shopping is easy with customer logins and custom shopping cart options.

Invenio designed Leaders in Leather’s website to showcase their gorgeous, hand-crafted work. Since 1993, each of their handbags has been hand-tooled by artisans using time honored Paraguayan tooling techniques that have been passed down through generations of families. Starting with the vegetable tanning of the hides, to the smallest stitch detailing, each bag showcases the natural beauty of South American leather!

We wanted their website to display each of their hand-crafted products in true-to-life detail, so we photographed their bags and built the site around the images. Check out the end result here, but be careful! You might just end up with a enviable new bag that will make your friends jealous!

Carrie Contey Evolve 2014 — Cathrin

Here’s our first animation for Carrie Contey, a parenting and lifestyle expert who we have been working with here in the studio. Contey’s enigmatic personality inspired these creative clips. The challenge was to bring together her ideas, client stories, and creative characters. We recorded dialogue and put together original storyboards, colorful animation, and cohesive text to bring these stories to life.

Take a look at the first animation in the series, “Cathrin,” and her choice to come from a place of love with her four children. Look for more as we release them in the next week!

GAHCC Foundation First Trailer

The first trailer for the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is ready for action!

The Invenio creative team wanted to give the GAHCC a trailer that showcases their mission — to expand local businesses, encourage networking, and support the Hispanic community through one-on-one involvement. We worked out a creative strategy that emphasizes the organization’s impact over the last four decades while giving those who are new to the community a great reason to get involved.

We wrote and filmed the video — meanwhile getting to know the GAHCC members and the children that they mentor. In post-production, we wove together the footage to create a video that tells their story and makes us want to learn more: we think you’ll agree! Watch the trailer
and let us know what you think.

For more information about our work with the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, take a look at our partnership with them and follow up with more information on their website.
